The Super Souvenir Project + The Repurposed 1978 Viscount Royale
Super Souvenir is a creative project that seeks to interrogate place and Gold Coast identity through the prism of the humble souvenir. It’s something of a hybrid – residing in a repurposed 1978 Viscount Royale. It’s a contemporary art gallery and micro museum on wheels, a space for conversation and chill out, and a place for making and reflection. Originally developed for the Commonwealth Games Cultural Festival April 2018 it now continues as an independently run project.
At a time when consumer culture is in question, Super Souvenir also seeks to provoke a conversation about the design of future memories, and to broker the development of a new generation of thought provoking souvenirs that are responsive to the key design challenges of sustainability and authenticity.

An outrageous concept for an innovative driven festival like Falls Festival Byron Bay. Designed for all those festival goers to relax, spruce up and dance their night away looking fab. Theme and graphic design by myself. The idea was to take an existing business like, Maverick Hair & Arts Space, and placed it into a temporary festival installation. Design and built around a 20ft shipping container.
MAVERICK HAIR & ART SPACE // Coolangatta, QLD. Australia
Maverick began in July 2013 when both my partner and i got tired of being an employee's and we were looking to start out own business. My partner, Hayley, is an amazing hairdresser/stylist and i myself was dabbling in a number creative projects. We both came up with the intended idea to mash our two professions together and see what outcomes came from this under one roof. And so the Maverick concept came about - we encourage our customers to be themselves and be mavericks. We curate our own exhibitions and events - where artists and designers can share and sell their work. I am truly proud of this project and it continually seizes to amaze me.
COOP ART STUDIOS // South Tweed Heads, NSW. Australia
Coop nurtured creatives through providing studio space for artists, designers and crafts person to design, build and make what ever they wish. It started from the lack of creative working space on the Gold Coast. Our mission is to provide a place where heavy work and machines can be used by the artists in a safe and collaborative environment. Coop Art Studios housed a woodworking room, painting and design studio space and a ceramic studio.
Coop Art Studios is now closed.
